HOW TELEHANDLER HIRE WORKS
No long contracts, no surprises. Here's what happens when you hire a telehandler from APS Equipment.
Tell Us About Your Job
Give us a call or fill in an enquiry. We'll ask about your lift requirements, site conditions, and timeline — so we match you with the right telehandler, not just the nearest available one.
We Sort the Machine & Logistics
We'll confirm availability, talk through attachments if you need them — forks, man-baskets, winches, jibs — and arrange delivery to your site anywhere in New Zealand.
You're Up and Running
Your telehandler arrives serviced, certified, and ready to work. If anything goes wrong during the hire, our in-house service technicians are a phone call away — not a call centre.
WHY HIRE A TELEHANDLER FROM APS
Machines for Every Job Size
Whatever your project needs, we've got a telehandler to match. Our hire range covers everything from compact 6-metre units right through to 30-metre and 46-metre reach machines — fixed-boom, heavy-lift, and rotating telehandlers ready to go.
Late-Model, Well-Maintained Fleet
Our hire fleet is regularly serviced by our own in-house technicians. You're getting reliable machines, not someone else's tired trade-in.
Genuine Advice on Machine Selection
Telehandlers are all we do. We'll tell you if a 4-tonne 14-metre unit will handle the job — or if you actually need to step up. We'd rather get you the right machine than the most expensive one.
Flexible Terms, Nationwide Delivery
Short-term, long-term, or project-based telehandler hire. We deliver to sites across New Zealand from our depots in Auckland and Whangarei, with service coverage from Northland to Christchurch and beyond.
SPENDING TOO MUCH ON CRANE HIRE?
If most of your lifts are under 10 tonnes, a rotating telehandler does the same job for a fraction of the daily cost. It sets up in minutes, needs one operator instead of three, and gives you height access and material handling as well — three machines in one.
We're not saying you'll never need a crane. But for the 80% of lifts that don't need one, there's a smarter way.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Can't find what you're looking for? Call us on 0800 001 495 — we're happy to talk it through.
Our standard minimum is one week. For longer-term arrangements or specific machines, we can be flexible. Give us a call and we'll work something out that fits your project timeline.
Yes. The requirements depend on the type of telehandler — fixed boom and rotating machines have different licence and unit standard requirements. We've written a full guide to telehandler licence requirements in NZ that covers everything you need to know.
We do. We arrange transport to your site anywhere in New Zealand. Our main depots are in Auckland and Whangarei, with service coverage extending to Christchurch and across the South Island.
Call us directly. We have in-house service technicians and will get a solution in place as quickly as possible — whether that's a repair on your site or a replacement machine. You're talking to our team, not a call centre.
Yes. We carry a range of telehandler attachments including forks, man-baskets, jibs, winches, and hooks. Let us know what you need when you enquire and we'll confirm availability.
Our hire rates cover the machine, standard forks, and routine servicing. Delivery, fuel, insurance, and operator costs sit with the hirer. We'll run through the full details when we quote so there are no surprises.
Our telehandler hire is dry hire — you supply your own operator. We provide operator familiarisation at handover so your team knows the machine. We can also connect you with training organisations if needed.
NOT SURE WHICH TELEHANDLER YOU NEED?
Tell us about the job and we'll recommend the right machine. Even if the answer is "you probably need a crane for that one."
